Miró’s first collages, produced in the late twenties, had a non-conformist edge to them that was his way of questioning the very act of painting.

During the summer of 1933, spent in Mont-roig, he produced several Collage-drawings, where, as well as reproductions of everyday articles and appliances, he used studio photographs of children or picture postcards of the period showing loving couples or stereotyped romantic landscapes. The attached images gave the appearance of large figures produced with a single continuous line.
