Reincarnation III: To Splash

On 9 July 2015, during the celebrations for its 40th anniversary, the Fundació Joan Miró paid tribute to Alexandre Cirici Pellicer, its multifaceted vice-president from 1975 to 1983, with an action that was entitled Mercury Splash. The artists David Bestué and Antoni Hervàs organised a festive and contemporary tribute in order to highlight Cirici's legacy and celebrate the Fundació Joan Miró's contributions to the local artistic ecosystem in its role as a centre for contemporary art studies.
The event featured the participation of Carolina Bonfim, Pol Esteve, Germán y la Alegría del Barrio, Silvia Gubern, Jeleton, José Jaén, Pere Llobera, R. Marcos Mota, Corte Moderno, Marc Navarro, Oriol Nogués, Claudia Pagès, Ariadna Parreu, Aimar Pérez Galí, Lucía Àngel C. Pino, PLOM, WoMen Synchro and Carlos Valverde. That playful performance day made the Fundació Joan Miró vibrate with an energy that still runs through and animates (with a soul) its corridors today. Among its desires and reverberations: to make spoken words resonate, to enliven architecture, to make history dance, to rearrange remains, to sing of fears and to invoke love.
