First Listening Session of the A Permanent Rehearsal Programme

This will be the occasion to inaugurate the grandstand and platform created by La Cuarta Piel and to discover two sound pieces: an unpublished work that will remain available in the space, and another piece that will be installed only on that day.

The sound piece that will remain in the exhibition galleries has been specifically created by Paz Rojo, a choreographer whose work combines dance, philosophy, artistic research and performative practices, generating formats that range from solos and stage works to books, laboratories, curatorial projects and pedagogical practices. Her research has led her to consider different registers of attention -such as destituent attention- and to assert that it is possible "a dance that will not consolidate into anything, but will remain open to everything, infinitely."

Installed for one day only will be Til I Get It Right (2005) by Ceal Floyer. The work consists of a sound loop built from the song of the same title performed by Tammy Wynette. Floyer extracts only two fragments and removes the reference to love from the original song. This operation creates a repetitive soundtrack in which the romantic meaning disappears, transforming it into a meditative piece about perseverance and desire. The result is a bittersweet sense of enchantment.
