The Foyer

The foyer is the room that welcomes you into a house, the environment that hosts the arrival of new airs, new gestures, new conversations, new relationships. There is no better place, then, to create a moment for sharing intuitions and knowledge-here, around the proposals offered by the mediation space Your Voice Will Protect You, curated by Maguette Dieng.

If "those who sing scare their troubles away," through various practices around the voice-both sung and spoken-we will ask: which sounds protect us? What do we want to protect ourselves from? How can we confront fear through polyphony? Can we begin a silent revolution?

Currently in a testing phase, though with the intention to expand, this proposal is open to schools that are part of the Joan Miró Prize Schools network. Ultimately, the aim of this space is to create a place where learning processes can be shared and where doubts and strategies can circulate among schools, both among students and within the teaching community.

Tau Luna is an artist and researcher whose practice unfolds through artistic research, mediation, and pedagogy. Their work examines the effects of coloniality on territories and bodies of the Global South, human migration as one of its consequences, and shared memory with more-than-human migrant beings through intersections of ancestral, scientific, and intuitive technologies. They have contributed to research on cultural policy and funding, publishing the Guide for Careful Funding (PAAC, Barcelona) and the migrant guide Lumbre.

edu r. pineda is a musician, curator, and educator. A graduate in Art History from the University of Barcelona, their theoretical and practical research revolves around sound and listening, understood as a mode of care and collectivization of discomfort, and as a key proposal for an economy of diverted attention. In the field of mediation, they have worked as an educator at MACBA since 2022, where they develop the project Narratives of a Collection as part of the Avalancha collective. Since 2023, they have also collaborated with the Public Programs Department at the Miró Foundation.
