Architecture of a Friendship: Miró and Sert

The season of dialogues concerning Joan Miró makes a stop at Barcelona's Fundació Joan Miró to talk about the artist's relationship with his close friend Josep Lluís Sert. The dialogue will be led by Martina Millà, Head of Exhibitions at the Fundació Joan Miró, and the visual artist Domènec.

It is part of Miró: Art and Territory, a season of twenty dialogues promoted by the Xarxa de Museus d'Art de Catalunya to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Fundació Joan Miró. The initiative aims to defend the artist's legacy and offer new interpretations of his work from a modern-day perspective, connecting it with museums and the territory.

Over the course of three months, forty specialists from various fields will reflect on key aspects of Miró's universe, including his relationship with the land, his connections with other artistic disciplines and his associations with figures such as Picasso and Sert. The season's contributions and discussions will later be compiled in a publication to offer a variety of contemporary readings of Miró's work.
