Urban beekeeping: the cases of Madrid and Valencia

Where are the bees? The mass disappearance of honey bees in recent years has elicited a growing interest in urban beekeeping as a way to re-naturalise cities. Within the framework of the project Beehavewe will reflect on the present position of urban beekeeping in the cities of Madrid and Valencia.

Presentation of the case of Madrid by María Vega Blanco, of the Fundación Amigos de las Abejas and the association Miel de Barrio.

Presentation of the case of Valencia by Isabel Aviñó, of the Observatori Municipal de l'Arbre de València (OMAV).

Ulla Taipale, one of the Beehave project artists, will also be taking part in this activity.
