Cymatic Feet: DJ set by Jokkoo and Adrasha

A few feet. Lots of feet... dancing the invisible matter of sound and drawn on the matter that sustains them, mediating between languages that wish to connect. With this DJ set, the Jokkoo Collective, in collaboration with Adrasha, invites us to dance as a way of connecting with the territory and expressing our own existence.

Jokkoo is a musical and artistic collective based in Barcelona that was formed with the intention of investigating and disseminating the most contemporary and futuristic creations of the experimental and alternative scenes of the African continent, its diaspora and allied communities around the world. Together, they create connections and spaces to provide a platform for dissident aesthetics and narratives. On this occasion, they will be joined by the presence and sound imagination of Adrasha, a Barcelona-based Ethiopian DJ and close collaborator of the collective.

Adrasha, also known as Misiker, works at the junction between sound research, storytelling and club culture. Focusing on the exploration of underground sounds, especially contemporary club music from the African continent and the diaspora, Adrasha's practice seeks to create a dialogue between hybrid sound expressions such as gqom, singeli, future dancehall and bounce, alongside current experimental electronic music.
