Dancing Among Fields of Colours

Creative learning knows no compartments or boundaries between disciplines. It does not stem from isolated knowledge, but flourishes where movement, music and visual art converge - like a river of colours advancing, mixing and transforming. The story of Dancing Among Fields of Colours explores the poetic world of Helen Frankenthaler, one of the freest and most groundbreaking figures of Abstract Expressionism in the 1950s. The narrative engages with Helen's initial creative impulses as well as her sensitive and rebellious childhood, inviting us to look at the world with truly open eyes and an available heart.

Based on this common theme, Meritxell Balada has designed an experiential workshop to share with the family, where art becomes a way of exploring emotions, breaking down stereotypes and discussing gender, freedom, empathy and identity. A space where young and old alike can create, move and express themselves together, free of judgement or predetermined patterns. We will play by allowing music and colour to interact with our emotional world.

A workshop to live art as a shared, free and living space. An invitation to dance among colours, to paint with the body, to listen with the eyes and to look with the heart.
