Eclipse

Show

While the sun wakes everyone up with its at times irritating rays, the moon rests in order to be able to rise and dazzle the world with its magic: two characters with opposing personalities who must coexist in the same space and respond daily to a global audience. The times that they cross paths are few, but when it happens, it is obvious that a paranormal phenomenon is taking place in which they eclipse each other to put on the best show possible.

A performance by Estel Boada and Xavier Michel filled with humour combining live music, the theatre of the absurd, magic and visual poetry.

Creation project at Nau Ivanow.

Xavier Michel (Poitiers, 1990) holds a degree in Systems Engineering and a Fine Arts degree from Villa Arson in Nice. For several years, he has developed a performative practice in which he manipulates tool-sculptures in absurd and poetic stagings. His work draws from object theatre, circus, dance, and music, giving rise to a polysemic and sensitive language. In recent months, he has been working in Barcelona, where his work finds resonance and a certain affinity with the local art scene. He is currently undertaking a residency at Hangar-org.

Estel Boada (Barcelona, 1991), singer and multidisciplinary artist, defines herself as a contextual minstrel. With a background in Fine Arts, she explores space, collectivity, and voice through performance. Her work, marked by humor and absurdity with touches of fantasy, reflects in a burlesque way on her life as a "frustrated diva." Interested in experimental education, contextual art, sound, music, and drawing, she uses action and humor as critical tools. She has taken part in numerous interdisciplinary art interventions and has curated self-managed contemporary art cycles. She is also a composer and vocalist in various musical projects.
