Material consciousness. Agustín Burton, Hatha yoga

On-site activity

Miró's evolution from fine detail in the early years to the stripping away of elements in his later works can be linked to the seven centres of human consciousness and our energy body, which also range from the most material to the most intangible or absolute.

Village and Church of Mont-roig (1919), a painting by Miró, is both a symbol and the origin of Miró's connection to the earth; the earth from which the force of his material consciousness arises.

The man connected to the earth, working with a hoe, occupies the central space of the composition. The main elements of the creation and basis of our lives are also present: the earth, of course, and water, the village as a space for coexistence, the sky and the sun. The earth is our workspace, where we experience things, develop and grow. A part of this growth is based on feeling that we, as characters, form part of the landscape, looking for balance between the material and the most spiritual.

This session includes a visit to the work Village and Church of Mont-roig, and Hatha yoga practice with the teacher Agustín Burton.

Hatha yoga. Agustín Burton is offering Yin-Yang Hatha yoga practice with the earth element as a starting point, with the aim of balancing the more masculine energy and dynamics linked to roots and the earth (Yang) and the feminine ones (Yin) linked more to passivity and introspection.

Agustín Burton is a teacher of Hatha Vinyasa at the Mandiram school. Initiated in Reiki, trained in Thai massage and in Jivamukti-style practice, and also trained as a trauma sensitive yoga teacher at the Fundación Radika. In his classes, he offers a space for self-awareness and connection, working the body, mind and spirit.
