We are celebrating the Fundació's 50th anniversary

June 15, 2025, will remain etched in the memory of the nearly 6,000 people -friends, collaborators, and admirers of Joan Miró- who enjoyed the celebration day marking the 50th anniversary of the Fundació Joan Miró, from six in the morning until eleven at night.

The day began bright and early, at 6 a.m., just as the first rays of sunlight illuminated the building and the Fundació’s galleries, to celebrate the Sert Solstice, an annual gathering of architects and architecture enthusiasts who visited the building in natural light -just as Josep Lluís Sert and Joan Miró had conceived it.

From 10 a.m. until late into the night, the Miró bustled with exhibition visits, storytelling sessions, and creative workshops, featuring Pilarín Bayés, Marta Altés, Pere Lloberta, Mon Mas, and others. The Sant Vicenç dels Horts castellers accompanied the celebration, which also featured a food truck area, a café, and personalized tattoo booths.

The Diada also marked the beginning of the first of several re-enactments that will take place at the Miró over the coming year. It launched with Reincarnations I: fly, by Jaume Clotet, which activated visitors and spaces across the Fundació to recreate the original performance linked to the Bombes de paper exhibition from 1978, curated by Joan Brossa, Josep Mañà, and Isidre Vallès.

Yerai Cortés brought the day to a close on the Fundació’s terraces, as the sun melted into the silhouette of Collserola and the singer’s flamenco rhythms delighted the more than 400 attendees of this unique concert.
