Max Bill: Anthology, 1938-1978
The Max Bill anthology exhibition will open at the Fundació Joan Miró in the presence of the artist on Wednesday 12 March at 7.30 pm and run until 20 April. The show offers an insight into Max Bill’s work and evolution from 1938 to the present day.
Trained at the famous Bauhaus, Max Bill’s work encompasses architecture, sculpture and painting. The creator of the term ‘concrete art’, as opposed to the common and unscientific term ‘abstract art’, he is undoubtedly one of the great creators of the 20th century. Founder of the Ulm School of Design, he has won first prizes at the Milan Triennial and the São Paulo Biennial. The exhibition at the Fundació Joan Miró, which is accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue with Max Bill’s own studies and theoretical texts, includes forty paintings and graphic works as well as fifteen spatial constructions, some of which are over three metres high.
