The artists featured in this exhibition are Eric Fischl, Keith Haring, Bryan Hunt, Bill Jensen, Robert Moskowitz, Susan Rothenberg, David Salle, Kenny Scharf, Julian Schnabel and Donald Sultan.

They all belong to the same generation, with the sole exception of Moskowitz, who was born in 1935. They form a group that cultivates extremely different paths, although they all maintain a vague relationship with Expressionism. Their works generally tend to revive figuration. They depict classical images alongside abstract and expressionist ones. A symbol of modernity, New York shows us multiplicity and simultaneity, the embodiment of the cosmopolitan spirit and its adaptation to the modern tradition.

The exhibition Trends in New York has been organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. Manuel Fernández Miranda, Managing Director of Fine Arts and Archives, is expected to attend the opening ceremony.
