Exhibition: Pello Irazu
Sculptures and Drawings
Dates: 9 June–28 August 1988
Venue: Espai 13, Fundació Joan Miró
Opening: 9 June at 7.30 p.m.
After his first exhibition as part of Primavera Fotográfica (Tàrraco: objecte i imatge [Tarraco: Object and Image], 27 April–29 May), Espai 13 presents an exhibition of sculptures and drawings by the young Basque artist Pello Irazu, running from 9 June to 28 August. (Opening ceremony on 9 June at 7.30 p.m.).
Espai 13, conceived as a space for “alternative proposals”, is not only dedicated to promoting young artists but also to embracing all kinds of projects that fit within this concept and space (installations, videos, photos, drawings, etc.).
Pello Irazu was born in San Sebastian in 1963. He has lived and worked in Bilbao since 1981 and has been involved in group exhibitions since 1982. His first solo exhibition was in 1987 at the ARC, Musée de la Ville de Paris: Espagne 1987: Dynamiques et interrogations (Spain 1987: Dynamics and Questions).
This exhibition marks his first solo show in Barcelona.
Following Irazu’s exhibition, we will host an installation by French artist Marie Ponchelet in September, and in November, a painting exhibition by French artist Bruno Bolze. Each exhibition will be accompanied by a “small diary” in two languages.
Barcelona, May 1988.
