Press Release Espai 13. Sense títol (Untitled) series Curated by Frederic Montornés La Bajamar (Low Tide), by Serafín Rodríguez 21 October–28 November 1993 On Thursday, 21 October at 7.30 p.m., the Sense títol exhibition series for the 1993–94 season will open, curated by Frederic Montornés. With this first exhibition, the Fundació Joan Miró resumes its long-standing commitment to showcasing more experimental and alternative artistic proposals, a tradition it has upheld since 1976 – first through Espai 10 and, in recent years, through Espai 13. The series opens with Serafín Rodríguez, born in Gijón in 1962, presenting his exhibition La Bajamar (Low Tide), which runs from 21 October to 28 November. Although Rodríguez has primarily worked with painting on canvas, this exhibition at Espai 13 features a series of spatially arranged pieces: a cube composed of materials such as glass, wood and laminated sheets, alongside a black wall drawing, evocative of an oversized graffiti. As the title suggests, at low tide, the sea reveals objects carried by the water – constantly shifting, they emerge momentarily before transforming into new forms. Similarly, Rodríguez’s exhibition takes shape as an ephemeral intervention, a reflection of ideas reshaped by the passage of time and the ebb and flow of artistic exploration. Set within a defined space, it invites the audience to engage with and interpret its meaning. “These are works I needed to show myself and share with others,” Rodríguez explains, emphasising the dialogue between the artist and the viewer. A press preview will take place on Tuesday, 19 October, at 12.00 p.m. at the Fundació Joan Miró.
