50 years in 223 songs
The list covers five decades of music at the Fundació Joan Miró and includes more than 200 pieces, totalling 20 hours and 28 minutes. The selection provides an idea of the importance that the Fundació Joan Miró has always placed and continues to place on this artistic expression. It showcases a variety of trends and styles that reflect an open, multifaceted sensibility over this half-century of existence and activity: from contemporary classical music to the most experimental expression, including electroacoustic music, sardanas, flamenco, electronica and jazz.
It takes into account the Fundació Joan Miró’s programming ever since its origins, the concerts during its early years, the sound research of the Laboratori Phonos and Grup Experimental Català and also the various editions of Music Evenings, Music of Today, Sampler Series, Barcelona Obertura and the exhibitions Genius Loci and Sound Art?, until concluding at the recent Music at the Miró season.
